All Five Home!

Kassidy, the last of the bunch, came home today! It is so nice to have all of them here. It was hard to split my time between home and the hospital. I think it is interesting that the babies came home in reverse birth order. They must have wanted to make it easier for me to remember, since I seem to forget a lot of things lately!

This weekend Jayson, Riley and Kaiya headed back to Texas. Jayson needed to go back to work (since now it is more important than ever that he remain gainfully emplolyed!!) and the older kids were anxious to get back. Riley will start school again in a week. It is strangly quiet around here with Riley and Kaiya gone. They have been so sweet with the babies so far and I hope it continues! They both get excited when the babies wake up and they can hug and hold them. Riley can even feed a baby if we need him to. Kaiya is dying to try feeding a baby by herself, but I am not ready to let her "help" me that much yet!

Our church has been incredibly supportive since we started bringing babies home. People bring meals three times a week and many people have signed up for shifts to help with the babies. The volunteers that really amaze me are the ones that want to come for the overnight shift. Besides the volunteers, my aunt and her family have been incredibly helpful. I am so grateful for all the help since there is no way I could do it alone.

Here are some recent pictures of the babies:

Congratulations on everything going well Rachelle! My sister in Naperville was so excited when I told her the good news that everything went relatively well for you guys during and after the delivery....plus you broke a record for carrying the quints so long!...what do you get for that?....a year of free diapers? or just the bragging rights? :)

If you are needing any help whatsoever and need a fresh face around, I am just here in Maricopa (south of Phoenix) and would be willing to help you with something you'd need/want help with.

just let me know, again congrats and I hope you get enough sleep. Having one baby is tiring enough!

Rachelle, those are absolutely gorgeous babies you have there! They don't look premature at all! I am so happy they are all home safe and sound. When will you be moving to where Jayson and the kids are?

Welcome home Cassidy! It probably has been another blessing to bring the wee babes home one at a time giving you time to adjust with each one.

Loved the pictures, we can see from them that the babies are gaining weight. Kaydence's face is starting to plumb up a bit along with the rest. They are beautiful sweet children.

Could Kaydence and Kendall be twins? They look so much alike.

I guess the next big event for you will actually be the trip home to Texas. What an occasion and celebration that will be for you and your family.

Our continued prayers and support go out to all of you. Kiss those babies for us. We love you all.

What beautiful newborns! I think you skipped the "preemie" look, Rachelle. Congratulations on having them all home with you. Take people up on the overnight shift. Brad and I discovered we could get through anything on a full night's sleep - it's priceless. Feel free to contact me with any questions/venting/whatever.....

They are the cutest babies! Is Rustin a REDHEAD? Or is it just the lighting in the picture? Oh, I love them already!

Not an ugly baby in the bunch- and I do believe I detect some red hair! They are too cute.

What cute pictures. They look quite a bit different from when we were there a couple of weeks ago.

I too think that Rustin has a little red in his hair color. What a bonus that would be.

Please give the little ones a hug for me. I love you all.

Welcome home babies! I was just reading back to the beginning of your pregnancy when you were talking with doctors who were pessimistic. What a powerful story! The Lord truly knows us and what is best for our families.

They are all so beautiful! I wish only the best for you and your family! Enjoy them while they are still little, since you have 2 others, you know how fast they do grow!

I just read about these quints in the Church News and they have been on my mind ever since. Having 8 month old twins myself, I am aware of the complications dealing with multiple births and am truly amazed at how far along and big each of these babies were at birth. That is truly a miracle and definitely had God's hand in it. Also, I have at times felt rather sorry for myself at how difficult these twins have been. Suddenly when hearing your story I feel a sense of relief that I only have two babies!
