Big Brother Riley Turns 8!

Riley and Kaiya with cousins Cora and Alec on his birthday.

This week Riley turned 8!! I can’t believe I have a child that old! I remember when I turned 8, and at the time, my mom seemed a lot older than how I feel now. Riley is an awesome kid. He is very sensitive and thoughtful of others. Every once in a while he sneaks in my room to make my bed or leave me a nice note. He loves to read, play LEGOs, and ride his bike. He just started piano lessons last week and he is on the swim team and loves it. He is very gentle and a great helper with the babies.

Riley and the new bike he got for his birthday.

Happy Birthday, Riley!!

Up until his 2.5 year picture he looks like Rustin but in the 2.5 picture he is the spitting image of Ryder!!

I was torn between Rustin and Ryder too. His face was wider like Rustin's when he was a baby, but his eyes are shaped like Ryders.
I hope Riley had a great birthday!

Math is his LEAST favorite subject?!? How does the spawn of a statistician and an engineer get away with not liking math?!

Sorry for the outburst, you can tell what gets me going. Hi Rachelle it's Cynthia (Stratford) Rasmussen, your old BYU classmate--I married Erik, you may remember him from the Stat program as well. I discovered your site recently and have been lurking. I think I would cry if one of my kids hated math... and I'm only semi-kidding. :)

Congrats on your houseful of children, by the way! You are amazing--raising 5 babies plus two others, all with a smile on your face. Thanks for sharing your adventures on your site, it's great fun to keep up with your beautiful family. Take care!

Happy Birthday, Big Brother Riley. I love watching you on the family videos.

You have reached a very special milestone in your life by turning 8. You can now be baptized. I hope you choose to be baptized and confirmed and are looking forward to it as I look forward to reading all about it.

I bet if you would have told Riley a few years ago that by the time he was 8 years old, he would be the oldest of 7 kids, he would have never believed it. I bet he is such a good helper with all those babies, but he probably feels like going to school is much needed "time-off" for a busy brother. By the way, you don't know me, but I am a friend of the Reeds who told me about you blog. Have fun with those little sweeties!

Hi, I'm 14 years old, and I have fallen in love with your family. They are so cute and adorable! I am now starting to want multiples even with the chaos it brings, and you inspire me by the faith you bring to God and with your family!
