The day before Easter, Virginia brought over this adorable bunny cake for the kids to eat. The babies thought it was interesting. Ironically, Kaydence, the girl who usually tries anything, refused to even touch it. Ryder, my carb/sugar addict loved it and the rest of the babies tasted it, but thought it was more interesting to smoosh it in their fingers than to actually eat it.

Saturday night we dyed Easter Eggs with Riley and Kaiya. I must admit that when it comes to messy art projects, like this one, I usually spend the whole time paranoid that someone is going to carelessly knock over the cups full of dye and stain everything in sight. I think when the quints are old enough to dye eggs, we will have to do it outside wearing old clothes! Fortunately, we made it through spill-free and Riley and Kaiya had fun and ended up with some cute eggs too.

Kaiya and Riley display their egg masterpieces!Easter Morning the kids woke up to find that the Easter Bunny had made a visit. At our house, the Easter Bunny color codes all the eggs, that way everybody gets the same number and the difficulty of the hiding spots can be changed according to age. This year was the first year the quints could really participate in an egg hunt, and I was surprised at how quickly they caught on. Kassidy was the first one to get it, and the rest of the babies would follow her as she ran around the house looking for the eggs. It was so cute to watch!

Kaiya and RileyAll the kids looked so cute in their Easter Sunday outfits, that I decided to get out the backdrop and take some pictures before church. None of the babies wanted to cooperate with that idea! In fact, I have started to wonder if I will ever get a really cute picture of all five of them at the same time ever again! Maybe when they are old enough to bribe... I may not be turning any of these pictures into poster prints to hang on the wall, but I did get a good laugh out of some of them!

Kyndall, Kaydence, Kassidy, Rustin and Ryder. I finally got desperate and pulled out the portable DVD player--it was the only way to get the babies to sit in one spot for more than a second. The downside is that everyone was too interested in "The Wiggles" to smile at the camera.

This pose is reminiscent of High School Dance photos, but I still thought it was cute!

I just have a question. At all the blogs of American families I've visited, in the Easter egg hunt pictures the kids are picking up what look like plastic eggs - is that was they are? Is there candy inside or are they just toys? Here the kids usually search for actual chocolate eggs (wrapped in foil of course). Just wondered, it got me curious!
Love the colour coding of eggs idea, by the way! The easter bunny did the same thing at our house growing up (I was one of five kids) and it definitely saved bickering.

A lot of families use plastic eggs here in the US. They are usually filled with candy--like jelly beans or the foil wrapped chocolate eggs. Sometimes they have little toys. I sometimes put a quarter in a few of them. THis year, the babies eggs had little bunny shaped crackers in them.

Kaiya and Riley look sooooo grown up in their prom pose. Love Riley's western boots and argyle sweater, a man with a sense of style. Miss Kaiya is growing, growing and so very pretty.
Quint egg hunting pictures, great viewing. Would love to have been there in person to watch all the hunting and scampering around as they looked for their eggs. Your great photos have made this fan of your blog feel a part of your Easter Morn action.

They may start to sit for photos when they're close to three--then you'll be battling the cheesy grins! The photo of the older two is beautiful. Can you come do my kids? (just kidding of course)
We used to dye eggs with 5 girls (cousins) about the same age. Our mothers just set it up outside and until we were old enough to trust we dyed in our underwear/diapers. Worked pretty well......

With all the pictures we take at our house, we figured a backdrop was a good investment, so we got one after the babies were born. I have always enjoyed photography, and having seven kids just gives me more subjects (even if they are un-willing ones!) :-)
