The Quints First Halloween

Halloween marked the babies three-month birthday. In some ways it seems like it has gone so fast, and in other ways the pregnancy seems like it was ages ago. All of the babies continue to do amazingly well. Three are over ten pounds now--Kassidy, Ryder and Rustin. Kaydence is around 9 lbs and Kyndall finally broke 8 lbs yesterday. They have finally started to sleep for some pretty good stretches at night (by pretty good, I mean 4-5 hours). Because of the time change, they actually went to bed early last night, around 9:15 pm, and it was great!!! We sent home our volunteer and watched this weeks episode of "The Office". It was wonderful to be able to sit down (no bouncing, pacing or swaying!) and watch a TV show without pausing it every couple of minutes to attend to fussy babies! I am hoping that we can keep the babies on this sleeping schedule. We have been following a good bedtime routine this week and rubbing them down with lavendar lotion before bed, which I think has helped.

For Halloween, we didn't take the babies out, so we didn't get them actual costumes, but the Halloween sleepers with the "Boo" accross the bum were too cute to pass up! Riley and Kaiya dressed as Harry Potter and Cinderella and brought home way too much candy.

Oh my goodness!!! They are too cute!

It is so wonderful that you took the time to take photos of them - and at the three month mark - there's no way you'll regret that!! Excellent work!

So sweet. Glad you got to "chillax" in front of the television for a while, uninterrupted. I have thought about you a lot since I was there on Thursday helping out, and every moment when I've been sitting around not doing much, I feel guilty! How do you do it, non-stop caregiving?

Your babies and children are wonderful.

I just happened over here from Tales From The Crib and wow! What an amazing story! I love so much that you were given such a strong reasurance from Heavenly Father at the beginning of all this that what you were doing was right. I'm sure that still gives you strength. They are beautiful- all 7 of them! Having a 2 month old right now- I can only imagine it times 5! :) As I read through all your posts I am also touched by the love that was poured out to you. I wasn't even a part of it and yet I can feel it through your pictures and writing. How blessed you have been. I know you will continue to be blessed- what an amazing story! Thank you for sharing!

I just found your blog from a friend of mine who lives near you in Austin. We have 19-month old twins and a newborn, and she told me that I should check out your site for inspiration any time I feel like having twins plus one (all under three years old) is a lot. Indeed, I am impressed and humbled by your humor, outlook and attitude. I hope I have even a fraction of the patience and composure (and good humor!) that you have as we raise our mere three children. Keep up the good job!!!

I love it. The babies look like pumpkins sitting next to the 2 trick or treaters.

This website, http://sawse.com/2007/11/02/25-photographs-taken-at-the-exact-right-time/, reminds me of the picture you took of the spit up, a picture taken at the exact right time.

Wow! I came upon your blog through mormonmommywars.com, and just finished reading through the entire thing. What an inspiring and beautiful story. :) You and your adorable seven will be in our prayers, keep up the good work.

I'm adding you to my bookmarked blogs so that I can watch those cuties grow up. How fun!

PS- I thought having our three boys in three years was rough, but now I have some perspective. :)

Rachelle, I have so enjoyed getting to know your family through all these adorable pictures. Even more so, I have enjoyed getting to know Riley in class each day. He is such a joy! I am looking forward to meeting the rest of the "crew" sometime in the near future.
