Progress Report

The babies had their six month doctor visit a little over a week ago. It was a little late because we wanted to get the RSV vaccination shots at the same time, and we had a little trouble getting the prescription filled on time. There are two pediatricians in the practice that we go to, so doctor's visits usually go pretty smooth, and surprisingly fast considering all the babies we bring! This time I took a total of four adults (including myself) to the appointment. The girls went into one room, and the boys went into another. The doctors said that the babies are all doing GREAT!! They are amazed at how healthy they are and at how wonderfully they are progressing. Developmentally, they are all right on track---doing things that full-term babies of the same age are doing. Growth-wise they are catching up as well.

Here are every one's individual stats at 6 1/2 months:

Kassidy

Height: 26 inches (25th-50th percentile)

Weight: 14 lb 10 oz (10th-25th perentile)

Kaydence

Height: 25.25 inches (10th-25th percentile)

Weight: 14 lb 1 oz (5th-10th percentile)

Rustin

Height: 25.25 inches (3rd-5th percentile)

Weight 15 lb 9 oz (10th-25th percentile)

Kyndall

Height: 25.25 inches (10th-25th percentile)

Weight: 11 lb 5 oz (less than 3rd percentile)

Ryder

Height: 25.75 inches (10th-25th percentile)

Weight: 15 lb 4 oz (5th-10th percentile)

Somebody suggested that I put my data analysis skills to work and create a graph of the babies weights from birth. It is probably hard to read this small, but you can kind of get an idea of how they are growing.

All seven Wilkinson Kids---Aren't they adorable???
(Ryder, Kaydence, Kaiya, Kyndall, Riley, Kassidy, Rustin)

Riley is "Knight of the Week" at school, which means that he gets to take the class pet (a stuffed giraffe named Julie) home for the weekend. (Clockwise from the top: Kaiya, Kassidy, Rustin, Kaydence, Ryder, Kyndall, Riley and Julie Giraffe)

Riley with his award for the Reflections contest. He made it to the Area level, where he received an Award of Merit for his video entry. Way to go Riley! (FYI--Riley's full name is Jayson Riley Wilkinson---hence the "Jayson" on the certificate)

Wow, it is truly amazing to see how much your babies grow and change, even just from week to week! I can definitely see their individual characteristics start to shine: Rustin's unique orange-red hair, Kassidy's cute little button nose, Kaydence's adorable golden-blonde locks, the way Ryder looks just like his big sister Kaiya, and how Kyndall is still just a little peanut but has the most beautiful deep blue eyes. Oh, and I also love the pictures of all the kids together! I also remember submitting entries for the annual Reflections contest in elementary school so I know how big of a deal it is...way to go Riley!

Hi Rachelle,
My dad and your dad are apparently cousins of some kind, which is how I came to visit your blog. I had a baby on July 25, so it's been fun comparing stats and imagining having 5 instead of 1. My baby was 13 lbs 11 oz at her 6 mo. appt. Your babies are beautiful!

Absolutely smashing pics and stats...
Is Rustin's height percentile correct? I may not understand.
Maybe if you make your graph the same as the pic under it, people could click on it and in the open window enlarge to read easier. I saved it, and enlarged my save....();-)

I can't believe how great all the kids look. Kaiya and Riley look more grown up then the last time I saw them. I love Riley's cool hair style.

Wow! You can really see how different each baby looks from each other now! They are all so adorable - all 7 of your children! Ryder reminds me so much of my little son - it must be the cheeks!

Nerns said...

Oops, I meant Rustin reminds me of my son! :)

You should get an award for being such an amazing mother. Then another for your entire family. You guys really have it together and I'm impressed by your wonderful family and talents each time you blog.

Great photos. I love, Love, LOVE the ones of all seven kids together. They must make you feel so proud. They all really are adorable kids. Every one of them is cute and from their pictures look like they have great personalities.

Way to go, all of you, thanks for sharing your world with the rest of the world.

Great stats, thanks for posting.

Sweet, sweet babies.

Loved the pictures of all 7.

Congrats to cool haired Riley for the much deserved "Reflections" award.

Princess Kaiya's hair is growing out, like it.

Enjoyed the flicks and pics on Tobi's blog of the Quints. She catches the moment. From what I viewed there I would say that Ryder is quite the dancer. Also bibs, drool teeth must be on the way.

Hugs for all..

Rachelle,

It's hard to pick songs for the most organized woman on the planet. But I think I've come up with a few that remind me of you.

1. Smooth Operator by Sade
2. The entire soundtrack to Hairspray

We'd like to discuss renting Rustin from you for the summer! ;) He'd go so well with our little Red Dog and our Red Travis too! Okay, so you may not take me up on it now, but when he's a teenager and I'm old and need someone to mow my lawn, you may reconsider!

They all look like thriving, active and very, very happy babies. Way to go guys.

This is so fun! I have twin nieces that just reached the year mark - and they are only 26 inches tall. (Ok, their mother is really little). but it's fun to have a comparison with your little guys. (They are walking around like they were born doing it.)

How crazy fun!! I have three small kids and then had twin boys, who are now one. I thought I was doing pretty well! HA!! The kids are all beautiful and I am so happy they are all so healthy! Good luck with solid foods and mobility. Watch out when they tag-team to get into things. That's the stage we are in and I am amazed at how much two makes a difference...can't even imagine the adventures you have ahead! Have fun and take lots of pics!

Hello! You don't know me from Adam, my name is Tiffany...and i came across your blog on a link from a friends...your family is just beautiful. I thought our lives were crazy good with 3 under 3 - but just reading about your sweet family makes me need a nap. :> I design, create and sell hair accessories of all kinds and would LOVE to give some to your adorable girls. If this is something that you would be interested in...please email me at wt_reeder@msn.com It's not like having the perfect hair accessory makes or breaks the day, but it is one of the fun things that can be over powered with all the purchasing of diaper, wipes and formula! take care and thanks for having an a amazing family! ~ Tiffany - Idaho ps. Beautiful family! Your kids are doing great. I am the mommy of quints too! Feb. 15 my little ones turned 1 year old. It is nice to find other quint families. If you want to chat ever send me an email: thewrightfive@hotmail.com
How did you get the pictures to do that on your header? I haven't figured out how to do that yet.

Wow! I am amazed at how wonderfully (all of) your kids are doing! They are all just beautiful! I have twins and find myself often thinking of you and your family wondering how you do it. I was washing bottles the other night and remembered a picture you had on your blog with a days worth of bottles. It made me feel less stressed about washing the dozen or so that I had..

By the time you get the hitch the kids will be grown and the stroller will not be needed.

I might add, I loved hearing you speak at the RR STK Women's Conference.

Hello! I came across your blog by accident and I am so glad I did! I live in California (born and raised in Idaho) and have 14 month old triplets! I am so glad they seem to be doing so well, as well as your older two. I am absolutely amazed you made it to 34 weeks and they all had relatively good weights! Way to go! I delivered at 34+ weeks as well. I hope you have a great week and hope to hear from you soon! You look fabulous, by the way :)

OMGosh! What a GORGEOUS family! Every single one is just beautiful!
And, your babies are doing so beautifully, so nice & big for quints! I am so impressed. My twins are 17 months old and are just barely 29 inches. You are going to have some tall babies there!

Did you breastfeed at all? I know a woman that did triplets, and one that did quads, but have not seen quints yet.
